History
Tanzania’s history is a rich tapestry of cultural evolution and colonial influences. The region was under German control from the late 19th century until World War I, when it was known as German East Africa. After World War I, the territory was mandated to Britain and renamed Tanganyika. In 1961, Tanganyika gained independence and in 1964, united with Zanzibar to form the United Republic of Tanzania.
Climate
Tanzania boasts a tropical climate with distinct variations depending on the region. The coastal areas experience warm temperatures and high humidity, while the highlands enjoy cooler conditions. The country has two main rainy seasons: the long rains, from approximately March to May, and the short rains, from November to December. These rainy seasons are characterized by lush green landscapes and fewer tourists. The dry season, from June to October, features dusty conditions, stunning sunsets, and a higher number of tourists.
